At Kaluma, we understand family ski holidays because we have spent years enjoying them with our own families. Time together in the mountains is incredibly special, but we also know that a successful family ski holiday needs to work for everyone – children, parents and grandparents alike.
Our directors, Andy and Richard, have raised their own children skiing in St Anton and Courchevel and know both resorts from a family’s perspective. From first ski lessons and childcare to family-friendly restaurants, activities and the best places to ski together, our advice comes from genuine first-hand experience.
Whether it is your children’s first time in the mountains or your annual family ski holiday, we can help take care of the details so you can concentrate on enjoying the time together.
Family Friendly Advice
In terms of both Courchevel and St Anton, both are well equipped for family visits. Not only in terms of:
- excellent ski schools and ski kindergartens
- fantastically friendly private instructors and groups lessons
- ski races, snow parks, fun parks, snow playgrounds
- easy access to slopes and/or private drivers to make it easy as possible
- excellent ski shops with child friendly, quality and safe ski equipment
- access to excellent child care
- supermarkets with child / baby sections
- baby food, child friendly food, snacks
- nappies, wipes and even some clothing
- toy shops for last minute purchases
Our chalets also have:
- baby cots
- child dining seats / high chairs
- toy boxes
- smart TVs to load all your children’s fav films and cartoons
- child friendly car seats / baby seats (when requested)
Childcare
TAILORED CHILDCARE OPTIONS:
If you are not bringing your own nanny, our concierge team can help arrange trusted childcare to suit your family, from private nannies and childminders to evening babysitting.
We work with established childcare providers in both St Anton and Courchevel, alongside a trusted local network of qualified nannies and babysitters. Quite simply, we would never recommend anyone we wouldn’t be happy to leave our own children with.
Good childcare gets booked quickly, particularly during peak weeks, so we recommend arranging it as early as possible. The aim is simple: happy, well-cared-for children enjoying their holiday – and parents with the freedom to enjoy theirs too.
