Could this be the first ‘full’ winter ski season since the legendary 2018/19 season? I say legendary, as that’s the last full season skiing that we had. The past few years have been somewhat of a blur for many of us, but now is the time to look up, look forward and to grasp every opportunity that comes your way! Skiing wise - that means ski early and make the most of the amazing, snow packed, empty pistes!
So here we are, on the 9th December 2022, the lifts are open, the snow is falling, the temperature is well into the minus and the SKI SEASON IS OPEN!
Not a restriction in sight.
Courchevel opened the lifts and slopes in the first week of December and St Anton opened with a few lifts on the 3rd December, and by the 10th December, pretty much the whole of the Arlberg will be ready to be skied.
As I type, it’s snowing across the Alps. And believe it or not, there is no one out here to ski it? The slopes are quiet, the snow is fresh, the pistes are packed down and flat, perfect for cruising the km’s and the off piste, up high is cold, white and fluffy and largely untracked. Everywhere. It’s the perfect time to get into the swing of the ski season.
Bars are opening, apres is beginning, Christmas is coming, chalets are warm and waiting and restaurants are opening their doors again. Ski season life is back and bustling and brimming with snow!
We’ve never understood why there is so much trepidation about ‘early season’ skiing. Don’t be nervous. Come and enjoy the quiet slopes, the great skiing, the winter and Christmas vibe, the bar openings, the atmosphere, the ambiance, that winter wonderland feel.
Whether you come for a weekend, a mid week break, a family ski or a group of mates making the most of the December flight sales and the pre season prices.
Availability is there. Short breaks, long breaks. Come ski with us anytime between the 14th and 26th December. Make the most of some last minute luxury. Go on, you deserve it…..
