The season is not long finished and after a tremendously successful winter 24/25 we are already anticipating winter 25/26! Delivering more bespoke, luxury chalet experiences that really make a difference to our discerning guests. To achieve this we need to start searching for our greatest asset… a top tier Resort Team. Consisting of chalet managers, concierge specialists, chefs, kitchen assistants, drivers and chalet hosts. Read on for an insight into what our roles require, who we are looking for and of what it’s like to work with us.
Kaluma has been operating for 22 years as an owner run, luxury chalet company with chalets in St. Anton, Austria, and Courchevel, France. Two of the best ski resorts in the world. Our success is down to our love for our resorts, skiing and the mountains, a passion for luxury hospitality with our very own personal twist and simply looking after people, making sure our guests and team have the very best experience with Kaluma.
Our focus is on personal service, striving to deliver individual experiences. Therefore, you’ll get to know your guests well, tailoring every interaction to their preferences and expectations. While one family wants to have a full day of skiing followed by a cozy afternoon tea, another group may prefer après-ski and a late dinner. No request is too small, and you will constantly think on your feet to go that extra mile.
This is demanding work, especially during peak times, but for those who thrive on hospitality and job satisfaction – it is also incredibly rewarding. There’s always a strong sense of camaraderie within the team, something very important to us. You’ll be working, living and skiing with your talented teammates. Some days may be long, but the reward is in seeing guests leave with big smiles, knowing you’ve made their ski trip unforgettable and happy in your every day incredible experience in the alps.
To provide our in-resort services you can expect to work split-shifts, with one full day off per week. Rota, timings and shifts can vary on a week to week basis. We tailor our holidays around the guests needs and requirements. Flexibility is a crucial part of luxury hospitality.
The chalets themselves are designed for ultimate comfort and luxury, with stunning alpine views, roaring fireplaces, and an atmosphere of relaxation. Our job is to ensure that guests feel like they are being pampered every step of the way. This could mean preparing gourmet meals, organizing ski lessons, answering questions about the resort or offering advice, helping to celebrate a birthday or special event, or always making sure every detail of the chalet is spotless and welcoming. That we have thought of everything and deliver excellent service with a smile.
A successful winter season with us is all about striking the right balance between work and play, your shift pattern allows plenty of time to enjoy life in a ski resort and all the mountains have to offer. We want you to enjoy your free time but to always bring the best version of yourself to work. We’re seeking professionals, who will contribute to our success while also making the most of their time in the mountains. If that isn’t you, then this job is not for you.
Perhaps you’ll work one season to experience a new hospitality environment , or look for progression and luxury within the hospitality field, or perhaps (like myself and many others) you’ll come back to work with us year after year and build a career for yourself in mountains or further your hospitality experience. We love nothing more then returning team and seeing our team go on to progress their careers. Our alumni list is impressive and extensive!
In return for your commitment, contribution and professionalism to the season (December – May) we offer an attractive payment package with many benefits. Please note you must hold an EU passport, EU residency card (CDS or EUV 50), or a full EU Working Visa to work for us. Unfortunately we are not accepting applications from UK passport holders, unless you have the right to work in France or Austria already in place. Sadly, the process is too laboured and expensive with no guarantees of acceptance.
We look forward to working with you
