Indeed, as an operator, we work with many excellent agencies. These agencies help sell the chalets on our behalf.

Sadly, there are also many scammers and scam agencies and websites out there. You need to be aware. You need to be able to protect yourself and distinguish who the operator is and who your agency is, so as not to fall victim to a scam yourself.

At Kaluma, we try to make it as clear as possible.

We are the operator.

We directly operate our own collection of luxury ski chalets in St Anton and Courchevel. We employ and train the teams, manage the chalets, deliver the food and service and look after our guests throughout their stay.

So why does that matter?

We don’t simply have a property description and a collection of photographs.

Food preferences, children’s routines, skiing plans, celebrations, corporate requirements, restaurant bookings or a last-minute change of plan – our team can communicate directly with the people responsible for making it happen.

There is clear accountability

This is perhaps the biggest difference.

We aren’t handing your booking to another company once the chalet has been reserved.

The chefs, hosts, resort teams and concierge delivering your stay are part of the Kaluma operation. If something needs arranging, changing or solving, it remains our responsibility.

We live and work in the Alps

Kaluma was built in the mountains and, almost 30 years later, we still live and work here.

We know St Anton and Courchevel through years of operating holidays in both resorts – not simply from selling them.

That local knowledge matters. Sometimes it is knowing the right restaurant. Sometimes it is choosing the right ski instructor or mountain guide. And sometimes it is simply knowing what will work best for a particular group.

If you want to compare hundreds of chalets across dozens of resorts, a good specialist agency can be extremely useful.
