Good to Know

You can’t beat the location of Les Airelles in Val d’Isere. Pick up your children from ski lessons and pop back for lunch in the sunshine.
The Best … spa in Val d’Isere. At 1,200sq.m with a dedicated children’s pool to keep the main wellness area calm, and specialized treatments for both adults and younger guests, the Guerlain Spa at Les Airelles is where to come to be pampered.

The Hotel

Les Airelles in Val d’Isere, formally known as the iconic Les Brussels, sits right in the heart of the resort at the base of the Solaise and nursery slopes.

Completely redesigned and rennovated by the master architect Christophe Tollemer, Les Airelles re-opened it’s doors in 2019 and now offers trendy and vibrant accommodation, seamless 5-star service, and the largest spa in Val d’Isere.

Beautiful rooms (all with large windows and balconies or terraces letting the natural light pour in), five penthouses and a 4-bedroom chalet, all offer you an extremely comfortable stay in Val d’Isere.

The finer details are also seen in its restaurants and bars. Book a table at Loulou, the huge sunny terrace at the bottom of the slope, enables you to enjoy watching the skiing from an enviable seat behind your glass of rosé; Or Matsuhisa, which has been designed by world-renowned Nobu with his signatory fusion style of blending traditional Japanese cuisine with delicious Peruvian ingredients.

In the evening, sit back and entertain family and friends in Le Bar Rouge or unwind until late in the elegant Cigar Lounge.

The Resort

Val d’Isère and the Espace Killy has a valid reputation as being one of the best ski areas in the world. The Val d’Isere valley and its neighbouring resorts in Tignes is where you can ski hard all day and party hard all night.

The ski terrain has plenty to offer all standards of skier and there are many activities available for non-skiers too, making it a great base for one and all. With one of the longest seasons in the Alps, Val d’Isère welcomes winter guests from the end of November through to early May.

The original village dates to the eleventh century and has kept lots of its original charm. In more recent years traditional building materials have been favoured in building new developments, so the resort as a whole is becoming prettier year on year. As a result there is a wide selection of high-end hotels and luxury ski chalets in Val d’Isère to suit all size groups and budgets.

There are a number of satellite villages based outside of the main resort, with a free local bus service connecting these and the ski area throughout the day and well into the night. For a real day out head over to Tignes les Brévières for lunch. By the time you are back at base in Val you will have clocked up some impressive mileage under your skis. Our top tip here is to hire a guide as there’s so much rewarding terrain and off-piste to ski. Just let us know and we can arrange it for you.
