2020 marks the start of a brand-new chapter for Kaluma's charity partnership with Snow-Camp. We asked Dan Keeley, Snow Sports Community Manager, what our partnership means to the charity.
Taking our partnership with Kaluma to the next level in 2020 means everything to Snow-Camp.
Since 2003, we’ve positively impacted the lives of over 11,000 underprivileged inner-city young people. All with the power of snowsports, and in so many ways we are still just getting warmed up!
Having the support from the UK snowsports industry is invaluable for us to surround ourselves with a passionate community of supporters & partners. All of whom appreciate the power of snowsports to change lives and want to join us for the journey.
Our partnership with Kaluma, now in its 2nd year, is built upon a shared appreciation and celebration of the power of the mountains and the power of snowsports to change lives for the better. Whether that’s an underprivileged inner-city young person who’s never left the city environment or those of us fortunate enough to be able to access this amazing lifestyle with our friends & families each year.
This year in-particular, Kaluma are supporting Snow-Camp with a fully-funded Bursary. An amazing support package which changes the life of one young person forever by funding their entire Snow-Camp journey. This is through our 2-day beginner, 6-day intermediate and 12-day advanced programme and includes a life-changing week in the mountains.
At every stage of the Snow-Camp journey, young people develop key life-skills and gain accredited qualifications, resulting in a Snowsport England Trainee Instructor qualification and the proud blue Snow-Camp jacket to round off their Snow-Camp journey.
With Kaluma’s passion for excellence and attention to detail, we’re proud to be embodying both of these qualities in the work that we deliver, with every young person coming through our programmes, so to every one the Kaluma Ski team and the wider Kaluma community – thank you.
And now in this new chapter for Snow-Camp, with our programmes running nationally in London, the Midlands, the North-West and Scotland, we’re more committed than ever before to welcoming new supporters and channelling Kaluma’s support to impact the lives of many more young people to come, who would otherwise never have the opportunity to access this sport and lifestyle that we all love.
If you are interested in supporting Snow-Camp at all please do reach out to us as we would love to hear from you.
